The SYP's Subject Committees
Every Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament (MSYP) can become a member of one of the SYP's 10 Subject Committees, which each take responsibility for a specific area of policy. Each Committee is led by a Convener who is elected by the Committee, takes on responsibility for co-ordinating the work of their Subject Committee and becomes the lead spokesperson on that area. The Committee may also choose a Deputy to assist the Convener. Recognising that the organisation's resources are limited, Committees cannot possibly deal with every issue that is raised, instead they generally concentrate on pieces of work which are very topical.
...but Subject Committees are not just for MSYPs, anyone can express an interest in the work of the committee they are most interested in as part of the site registration process.
Clicking on the links on the left will tell you a bit more about each of the Committees and the areas they cover.
