SYP Elections

Vote If you're aged between 14 and 25 you can vote for who represents you in the Scottish Youth Parliament. Elections for the SYP happen every two years (in odd years, so 2009, 2011 etc) and are run in partnership with Local Authorities and Voluntary Organisations.

Local, National, UK and European elections - Make Sure You Can Vote!

While the SYP believes that you should be able to vote when you're 16 (click here for more), if you're aged 18 or over you can vote in local, national, UK and European elections, which lets you have your say and decide who represents your views. But first you need to make sure that you're registered to do so!

It’s really easy to register, just go to www.aboutmyvote.co.uk print out the form, fill it in and send it to your local Electoral Registration Office - it only takes a few minutes.

If you’re not registered, you can’t vote!

Upcoming elections

A UK Parliament General Election will take place on Thursday 6th May 2010 - if you turn 18 on or before that date, make sure you're registered to vote!
