South of Scotland
The South Scotland region consists of nine constituencies electing 18 MSYPs.
It covers a large, mainly rural area from both the south east and south west of Scotland. The local authorities of South Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway and Scottish Borders are contained within the region, as well as most of East Lothian.
It also contains portions of other local authorities including the Clydesdale area of South Lanarkshire, the Cumnock and Doon Valley area of East Ayrshire and the south-eastern portion of North Ayrshire which includes Irvine, Kilwinning and Stevenston. The region also includes the town of Penicuik in the Midlothian council area.
