Candidates for the role of Chair
The Chair of SYP is the figurehead of the organisation and chairs the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate needs to be able to chair meetings of the organisation, represent SYP at a strategic level, and work with the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.
The candidates for the role of Chair are (in alphabetical order) as follows:
Amy Lee Fraioli MSYP
I believe that I am capable of leading SYP onto further success whilst ensuring that every MSYP plays a meaningful role and has an enriching experience. As an MSYP since 2013 and a Trustee for the past two years I believe I have gained the skills and knowledge required to chair this organisation.
If elected I will prioritise improving resources and training available to MSYPs to carry out work in their local areas - creating successes locally is an ideal way to raise our profile. I will also focus on improving representation within the membership by seeking out new Voluntary Organisations and also look to improve opportunities available to rural MSYPs in order to ensure all young people have their voices heard.
I promise to maintain the strong accountability of the board and to always value the opinion of the membership. A vote for me is a vote for the organisation you want to see.
Thomas McEachan MSYP
I have been an MSYP for four years and I believe that my lengthy experience of SYP will be my greatest asset as a Trustee and as Chair. My experience as the Communications Trustee means that I know how to ensure that the Board is as productive, accountable and approachable as possible.
Having held nearly every position in SYP, I know this organisation like the back of my hand - its structures, intricacies, strengths and weaknesses - and I am certain that I will be able to put this knowledge to good use. I am certain that if we MSYPs work together and turn our collective passion into meaningful action, we can achieve anything we set our minds to.
I believe that with my experience, my drive, and my vision for SYP I can ensure that, as your Chair, this next year is the best year SYP has ever had.
