Take Action

We’re confident you know all about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Social Return on Investment (SROI) and can probably teach us a thing or two.  But what we do know is that there are many things which we value, as societies and individuals, which cannot be easily captured in economic terms – including the important work of the young people in Scotland and yet, most decision making in the private, public and third sectors are based solely on costs and price.

Case Study:

Over the 2008-2010 term we ran almost 20 Campaigns, numerous consultation responses and many other political engagements based on the statements contained within our previous manifesto.

In anticipation of the 2011 Holyrood elections, the Scottish Youth Parliament consulted with young people across Scotland to create a new Youth Manifesto for Scotland.  ‘Change the Picture’ has been an enormous project for the Scottish Youth Parliament.  With the support of our MSYPS, there was not a festival, school, university or constituency uncovered.  Our hardwork paid off when the consultation closed and we counted a staggering 42,804 responses from young people across Scotland.

It shows that young people are engaged, involved and have a vision of how they want Scotland and society to exist.

If you wish to spread the message of your organisation and raise its profile amongst the young people in Scotland – contact the Scottish Youth Parliament to discuss ways in which we can help you to do so.
